Our Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We come to You with our hearts open and sincere. We thank You so much for just blessing us to see a new day. We thank You whole heartedly for our spiritual, physical and mental health. We thank You for our family and friends. We would like to extend our prayer for our move back home, to Dallas! We sincerely ask and pray that this move will come soon and have your blessing. We are ready to serve You, better and stronger, as Your servants. You know our personal challenges and we just ask that You continue to bless us with the strength to endure! Thank You!

Our Big Boy!!!

Hello Everyone!
We just wanted to share a few pics of our Big Boy doing some Big Boy stuff! (Actually, I have wanted to do this for a while but my cord to connect my camera to the laptop was playing hide-n-seek...And I just found it today!) He is also doing really well utilizing sign language and going to the potty. This parenting thing isn't so hard...just kidding! We are still learning every second of everyday probably for the rest of our lives. But WE LOVE HIM SO MUCH. Korlon is the greatest gift that we have ever received! Even at his young age of 1, he has already touched so many lives, people ask us if they can "just hold" him after hearing his miraculous story. To this day, we continuously thank God for enabling all of his medical staff with life saving minds and hands and of course the prayer warriors whose heart-felt prayers meant and still mean so much to us. I have to stop now...I am teary eyed and he is blowing saliva through a straw on my arm...such a sweet, yet 100% boy!!!
Here's Korlon using his Spin Brush all by himself!!!

And, here's Korlon getting a fresh line for his big reunion in Fort Worth!!
(And yes, he is sitting in the sink!)
These were to cute to keep to ourselves. Enjoy!!:)))

Hello Again...

Hi Everyone!
I know that it has been about 4 weeks...but we have been busier than ever! Like everyone isn't but we have truly had a lot going on around here. First, we were in Fort Worth a couple of weekends ago for Korlon's 2nd appearance at the NICU's annual reunion. He had a great time of course...it was almost like he remembered everyone...which he probably did in a subconscious way. Here are some pics from that day.

Above pic: Me & Miss Kenzie (1 of my nurses) and Miss Leigh Anna (my respiratory therapist)
Me and the Build-A-Bear Bunny!
Me and Something! A cat maybe?!
Me with Miss Sherry (1 of my nurses)
Me & the best Daddy in the whole world!!!

Also, Dee has been going full speed ahead with working full-time (+some) and attending his rigorous graduate program. He will complete his Master's in Organizational Administration this fall. We are SO PROUD OF HIM!!:) One of our life goals as a couple is to each receive a master's degree and by golly, I did it and he is almost done!

I have been completely swamped by work! Working 40-50+ hours at the facility and endless hours at home...can I say that I need a vacation? But, I am not going to complain. My life is great and I am truly blessed and fortunate to have my handsome husband, our precious son, my one-of-a-kind family and my blossoming career.

Blog by Korlon!

Here I am, oh so upset.....
What's that? Did you say "treat?" I think that I am a happy kid now!!!
My Granny and Pawpaw came to visit me during springbreak. I sure do wish that they would come back. My dad and mom have these stinky things called rules, naps, clean-up times, potty times, bedtimes, time-outs and spankings. My grandparents have great things that I LOVE called snacks, more snacks, Korlon-can-do-no-wrong perspectives, new toys, noisy toys, and did I mention SNACKS!! Yep, that's it, the grandparents and I get along really well. Come back soon Granny and Pawpaw! Oh yeah, I am still pondering one thought. What on earth did it mean when my parents told me that I was going to get something called a "reality check" after you all left? I don't think that is something fun like a Spongebob cartoon. Anyways, the picture below shows the daily effect I had on my grandparents while they were here. Aren't they precious?!?!
Well, my parents finally did it...only after the millionth trip to Wal-Mart...they bought me my first Power Wheels!! I am so excited! They let me ride it throughout the house right now, outside a couple of times, but I am still in driver's ed. Also, my parents have been speaking some new language as I have driven my 4 wheeler over their feet. Maybe oneday I will understand it but for now, it sure is entertaining to watch them jump or fall while grabbing their feet, while speaking the foreign language... sometimes even with tears in their eyes...Boy, I sure do make them happy! Check me out!! Front View
Side View!!
I am in position now!! Foot on the pedal!!
Hope that you enjoyed my blog! Love you guys and thanks for your continued prayers and thoughts!!!

Sorry about the delay...

Hi Everyone!

So sorry about the delay in updating. So much has been going with being a parent, working and Dee's schooling. Please keep him in your prayers because he is having a stressful time with one class. Anyways, not that anyone cares about us...... Korlon is doing great!
Here is his list of new things thus far:

1. He just completed his first week of going to school full-time (everyday)
2. He is also pointing his finger when talking back to his parents
3. He is also attempting to do somersault flips
4. He is removing his diaper when wet
5. At this very moment, he is drinking the barbeque sauce instead of dipping his chicken nugget
6. It sounds as if he asks, "Do What?" when we tell him something that he doesn't like
7. He is now attempting to drink from a regular cup like a Big Boy!
8. He also attempts to say "Big Boy" when he does something well and gives himself a round of applause

Last, but not least, here are some pics and videos of our lil man

He is finally back!!!

We are finally on a upswing with Korlon's health! Nothing too serious, but within the last 3 weeks he has experienced a busted nose, a head gash requiring stitches (glue actually), an ear infection in both ears, 3 days straight a fever spiking between 101-105, and a horrible allergic reaction to a penicillin antibiotic! That also equals 6 doctor's visits with 3 being ER/urgent care, 2 to an allergist (who is very pricey we have sinced realized with the 1st bill), and 1 to the pediatrician! Sleep...What is that and where can we get some???!!!:)

Here are a couple of videos of him dancing around, feeling back to normal and overactive(sorry about the quality from our phones, but it was the first camera that we could get to!)!!

Praise & Glory
